More info
Redesigned with an InfinityEdge display and Dell Cinema, the 13.3" XPS 13 9380 Laptop from Dell is a thin, light, and durable system designed for users who need a portable system that's capable of keeping up with them. Powered by a 1.8 GHz Intel Core i7-8565U Quad-Core processor with a boost speed of 4.6 GHz, 16GB of 2133 MHz LPDDR3 RAM, and integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620, the XPS 13 can efficiently multitask and quickly access frequently used files and programs. Please note that the RAM is not user accessible and may not be upgraded.
For storage, this system is equipped with a 512GB NVMe PCIe M.2 solid-state drive, which can boot-up and load files and applications within seconds. Should you need more storage, connect external storage solutions using its two Thunderbolt 3 ports and one USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port. Both Thunderbolt 3 ports support bi-directional transfers of up to 40 Gb/s, as well as 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2, DisplayPort, and Power Delivery (PD) up to 15W (5V / 3A). The USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port supports DisplayPort and Power Delivery up to 7.5W.
Connect to the internet via Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and pair compatible wireless peripherals using Bluetooth 4.2 to free up its USB ports for more important devices. Other integrated features include a 720p webcam, a backlit, 82-key keyboard, a microSDXC card reader, quad-array far-field microphones, dual speakers that support a peak output of 2.5W, and a headset/microphone combo jack. The operating system installed is Windows 10 Home (64-Bit).
Thunderbolt 3
Thunderbolt 3 is a hardware interface that utilizes the reversible USB Type-C connector. Doubling the speed of its predecessor, Thunderbolt 3 features a maximum throughput of 40 Gb/s when used with compatible devices. The connector also transmits data via USB 3.1 at up to 10 Gb/s, and dual-bandwidth DisplayPort 1.2 allows you to connect two 4K displays simultaneously. Additionally, you can daisy chain up to six devices from a single Thunderbolt 3 port.
Improved Camera Location
Dell pushed innovation to its limits to create an innovative HD webcam that's housed in the top of the InfinityEdge display.
Webcam Construction
The XPS 13 webcam isn't just smaller at 0.09", it uses a four-element lens, which has more elements than a typical webcam to deliver sharp video in all areas of the frame, while temporal noise reduction improves video quality, especially in dim lighting conditions. Finally, the lens is assembled with precise machinery to help ensure all points of the image are in focus.
Cinema Color
Visuals appear every bit as lifelike as the world around you. Experience richer, more vibrant color and details enabled by Dell Color Profiles, and take full advantage of HDR content's superior dynamic range, infinitely deep blacks, and dazzling brights thanks to Dolby Vision.
CinemaSound
Waves MaxxAudio Pro boosts volume levels and clarifies tones, so you experience studio-quality sound.
CinemaStream
Killer Wireless channels more bandwidth to your videos or music for a seamless, stutter-free experience.
Less Border, More Pixels
Dell has improved every part of the display. Enjoy a screen that seems endless with an InfinityEdge display, enabling a 13.3" screen in an 11" form factor, with an 80.7% screen-to-body ratio.
Vibrant Colors
By maximizing the color spectrum with 100% sRGB color and a 1500:1 contrast ratio, shadows take shape and bright scenes gain definition.
Beautiful from Every Angle
The anti-glare screen combined with a 400-nit brightness frees you to enjoy your entertainment outdoors. Plus, the IPS panel provides horizontal and vertical viewing angles of 85°, so you can share your screen without missing a thing.
More Might, Even More Slight
Dell's Smallest 13" Laptop
Your entertainment can go with you almost anywhere. Starting at just 2.7 pounds, the smaller, thinner XPS 13 is ready for takeoff. It is sized for airplane tray tables, so you won't even notice when the passenger in front of you reclines their seat.
Powerful 13" Laptop
With a 1.8 GHz Intel Core i7-8565U Quad-Core processor, more cores means improved performance, even with multiple applications running. Plus, the Dell Power Manager, engineered by Dell, allows users to customize their laptop acoustics (fan speeds), temperature, and performance based on their preferences between quiet, ultra-performance, and cool modes. For example, quiet mode is 50% quieter than the other modes. It also dynamically delivers more power from your processor while monitoring and managing system temperatures.
Work or Play Longer
You'll experience a long battery life of up to 21 hours when using production applications like Word or Excel.
Faster Memory, More Storage
The system boots and resumes quickly, thanks to 512GB of solid-state drive storage. Multitask in a flash, even on intense applications, with up to 16GB of 2133 MHz LPDDR3 memory.
Looks That Keep Their Cool
Protective Coatings
A UV- and stain-resistant coating helps to prevent yellowing and staining.
Strong Build
The XPS 13 is cut from a single block of aluminum, so it's more durable than a machine that's pieced together. Carbon fiber, inspired by the aerospace industry, and woven glass fiber on the palm rest, allow for increased strength and minimal weight. Corning Gorilla Glass 4 is twice as damage-resistant as competitive products.
GORE Thermal Insulation
The XPS 13 is built with GORE Thermal Insulation, which provides thermal conductivity levels lower than air in a thin, flexible format. While the Gore insulation directs heat out of the device, dual fans and heat pipes further lower the temperature of your XPS, enabling greater performance in a thinner form factor.
You Are the Password
The fingerprint reader integrated into the power button lets you log on with just a touch.
Voice Activated
Your XPS 13 responds to your voice from up to 14' away, thanks to four built-in mics, Microsoft Cortana, and Waves-enabled speech technology. Control playlists and access schedules regardless of background noise.
Connectivity
The Thunderbolt 3 ports allow you to charge your laptop, connect to multiple devices (including support for up to two 4K displays), and enjoy data transfers up to 40 Gb/s. The XPS 13 can also be used with Dell docking solutions, featuring single-cable connections for power, Ethernet, audio, and video. Add the optional Dell Thunderbolt Dock for faster data transfers and support for up to three Full HD displays or two 4K displays.
Seamless PC/Smartphone Integration
Access multiple devices without dividing your attention. Dell Mobile Connect pairs your iOS or Android smartphone with your laptop.
Limit Disruptions
With Dell Mobile Connect, you get the option to channel notifications from phone calls, SMS, IMs, and other apps right to your laptop. Keep your focus on a single screen and respond only when it's convenient for you.
Maintain Your Privacy
Your phone connects to your XPS 13 via Dell Mobile Connect's point-to-point secure connection, so your data is not exposed via unsecure network connections.
Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Cortana
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Laptop, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
